Mahidol University (Thai มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล, pronounced: ma-hi-don) is a public university in Thailand. Founded in 1943, the university was originally known as the "University of Medical Sciences" (Thai มหาวิทยาลัยแพทยศาสตร์) It is one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in Thailand and one of the highest ranking in the country in terms of research power, research income, and numbers of international students and lecturers. It is well-known for its first medical school in Thailand, the Siriraj Medical School. Originally focusing on medical programs, the university have expanded remarkably in recent decades. It now offers not only medicine, but a whole range of programs ranging from natural sciences to music studies.
Applicants must demonstrate English competence: a TOEFL score of 550 or above, an IELTS (academic band) score of 6.0 or above or an SAT score of at least 1650 with a math score of at least 580. The Internet TOEFL requires a minimum score of 79.

Qualifications
Applicants must possess a secondary school certificate or its equivalent (GCSE, IGCSE or GCE “O” level of not less than a C in five subjects or a high school certificate/ diploma from an accredited institution) as issued by Thailand’s Ministry of Education.
Hold a Bachelor degree from the institutes recognized by the Ministry of Education, Thailand, with a GPA of at least 2.5.
1) Hold a Bachelor degree or Master degree from the institutes recognized by the Ministry of Education, Thailand, with a GPA of at least 3.5;
2) Present satisfactory research preparation.
