University profile:
Naresuan University was initially an off shoot of the College of Education, under the Ministry of Education. To expand degree programs in teaching education upcountry, later the Council of the College of Education in the Department of Teacher Education decided to establish a campus of the College of Education in Phitsanulok. On January 25, 1967, the Ministry of Education established the College of Education at Phitsanulok. In 1974, the College of Education, Phitsanulok, was granted university status under the name Srinakharinwirot University, Phitsanulok until becoming Naresuan University, which was named after King Naresuan the Great in 1990 with its main mission are classified to 4 sides; the promotion of well-qualified students, research, academic service as well as art and culture.
