Chulabhorn Research Institute (CRI), founded by Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol in 1987, has achieved a worldwide reputation as a research center with very high standards. CRI has a staff of highly qualified research scientists and well-equipped laboratories with the most up-to-date facilities. Having established international linkages with many leading research institutes, CRI has initiated and carried out research in various fields with very high international standards, particularly in the areas of Applied Biological Sciences, Chemical Biology, and Environmental Toxicology. In addition, there is an ongoing program of exchange visits with internationally renowned scientists from countries throughout the world who conduct joint research projects with CRI staff.

CRI fully realizes the importance of expanding its cadre of highly qualified scientists, who have an essential role in the development of Thailand, to ensure that our nation can compete at the highest international levels. Thus, the Chulabhorn Graduate Institute (CGI) was established in 2005 to commemorate the 48th birthday anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol, striving for excellence in educating and training scientists at the levels needed to ensure continuing and sustainable national development.
