Which universities offer international programs?
Not all universities offer international programs, and the offered programs are usually limited to mainstream subjects, such as Business Administration (i.e., BBA, MBA, and PhD/DBA), English (Bachelor and Master), or Mass Communication (mainly Bachelor degree programs).
Running an international program is way costlier than running a program in Thai, so universities are limited to programs that can attract enough students per class to afford the additional effort. In addition, some professions are limited to Thai people by the law, such as medical doctors, architects, and civil engineers - you won't find any international program at a Thai university in these fields. Still, there is a wide variety of programs offered, and they differ not only in content but also in quality and internationality. Our recommendation is to look where many western students to - that are likely to be the programs that best follow international standards.
In addition, foreign students cause more administrative effort than Thai students. They need visa, and they are not familiar with the Thai university system, what causes at times lots of questions. Some universities opted therefore to take higher tuition fees from foreign students. Please watch out - some universities take the same fees, however.
