Cost of International Degree Programs for Thai Students
Our tuition fee overview across all international degree programs.
Why does a Website that addresses non-Thai students also offer the prices for Thai students? Well, the answer is simple: Many want to study an international program, but few actually do it.
In 2016, the Laureate Group of Universities published the results of a survey in Thailand. It said that about 60 percent of all school leavers would like to study in an international program, but only 3 percent are admitted. See the opportunity behind this information, and the demand that needs supply. (We couldn't verify how the study was made, but from our experience here in Thailand, we have no doubts that it's about these numbers.)
To calculate your own reliable budget you should know some things. First, not all universities spread the tuition fees equally over the semesters. Some universities charge you with more during the first semesters, while tuition fee is lower in the last semesters. Some programs are more expensive since heavy technology is needed, such as laboratories in applied chemistry or nano-technology. If you compare standard programs that do not need any laboratories or expensive equipment, such as business administration, you may be surprised about the range of tuition fees. And please note: It is not that the most expensive programs have the most western lecturers. Explore yourself.
Generally, higher tuition fees don’t necessarily mean better education. Demand for international degree programs in Thailand is high due to the inflation of academic degrees over time. There’s almost no white-collar job to get anymore without a bachelor degree - today, you need a Master. With about half a million graduates leaving Thai universities per year, international degree programs became an alternative for getting a better starting position.
Since everybody in Thailand knows that international degree programs are more expensive than standard programs in Thai, many say that some universities just cash in on that.
Even for a high tuition fee, the only international element in such a program might be a US college textbook. The most important single factor of good university education is the quality of the professors. When looking a bit deeper into the different tuition fees, you will quickly find out that some of the cheapest programs offer you 90% coverage of all courses by western university professors, while some of the most expensive programs are not worth their money at all.
Be aware of hidden costs! An important cost factor might be the additional payments, such as for textbooks. You will want to make sure that you calculate such expenditure as well. Again, in some of the cheapest programs, all textbooks, handouts, academic and administrative fees are included, while in some of the most expensive programs, you need additional budget to cover these hidden costs. Not all universities are eager to publish the real cost of study in order to look a bit better against competition.
Check the credentials of the professors, and don’t get lured by a stylish campus or pictures of handsome boys or beautiful girls (actually, they are all beautiful, on every campus).
For the following table please note that the information provided covers only those universities that publish their cost on the Internet. Those who keep it a secret (what ever the reason might be) are certainly not included. Still we think, it provides you with a nice first overview.
Again - when you contact the university of your choice, don't forget to ask for additional costs that may apply (textbooks, seminars, travel abroad, etc.) in order to make a correct budget.
Finally, according to the universities' Web sites, prices are subject to change without further notice. So please counter-check.

Allow us to say it again: This is only an overview. The universities that don't publish their tuition fees online may be way more expensive. Be advised that higher cost of study does always means higher quality of learning.
